Dancehall artiste Tornado recently released his new single titled 'Positive Way' for local producer Dia of Builders Music. In the single, Tornado burns out badmind which he says is one of the biggest problems faced in the industry.

He sings, "they are trying to hold us down/ they are trying to stop us, but Jah protect us along the way/ live our lives in a positive way and we run badmind away".

"Whole heap a people inna di thing badmind, some a dem use yuh material without your permission, tek yuh lyrics an dem things deh an don't gi yuh di credit fi it," he said.

With a stage name that explains his energetic personality, Tornado aims to make his name remembered on the dancehall scene. Like his namesake, he has been wreaking havoc with his powerful and creative vocals ever since he made his way into the music industry.

Born Dervin Grant, he received his formal education at Mountain View Primary School and Vauxhall High School. From a young age, his love for music sparked while he was still in high school at Vauxhall and he recorded his first song while in the 10th grade.

The song Reno on the Old Man Riddim, was the first of many songs done by Tornado. Other songs include, Pocket A Speka, Killa Swing, on which he collaborated with Ding Dong, Forty Strong with Wayne Marshall and Cut Them Off featuring Elephant Man and Ding Dong.

Tornado has performed on some of Jamaica's biggest stage shows such as Sting, Champions In Action and Fully Loaded, to name few, and has been creating havoc in the dancehall arena locally and internationally with his hit single Rave Everynight, which is an anthem for most dancers.

Having worked with producers such as Delano from Renaissance, Factor and DJ Karim, he has no intention of slowing his role and only sees a brighter future in the industry as according to him, "Couple years from now Tornado ago be one a di biggest thing inna di dancehall."
