Long goodbye

Dear Pastor,

I am a Jamaican living in the United States. Before I moved there, I was involved with a girl for six months. We are still in love with each other, but I don't know if it will work because I have heard that long-distance relationships don't often work out.

I really love this girl and I don't want to lose her. I need your advice on this.

K.W., New York, USA

Dear K.W.,

One can never be sure what will happen in a long-distance relationship. Sometimes, people remain faithful, but oftentimes they don't. Thank God for those who are in long-distance relationships that have worked. One should never say that couples will never be faithful because they are living apart. If they are fully committed, they will remain faithful. I can only wish you and this young woman well.

Don't fret over her, because that would not help at all.

Pastor
