Violet Lewis, the wife of former world heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis, is being considered by the People’s National Party (PNP) as a replacement for Dr D.K. Duncan as its candidate in Eastern Hanover.

But who is Violet Lewis?

Violet Lewis was known as Violet Chang before she married world heavyweight boxer Lennox Lewis. She has the same first name as Lennox Lewis' mother.

She was born in Jamaica but grew up in the United States where she also attended college.

While on vacation in Jamaica back in 2000, Chang met Lennox Lewis who also has Jamaican parents and was vacationing on the island at the time as well.

Chang entered the Miss Jamaica Universe contest in 2002 and placed second in the competition.

She married Lewis on the 15th of July 2005 and the couple have four children together (three daughters and a son).

Violet Lewis along with Leonard Green and Gary Whitaker are all being considered by the PNP as possible replacements for D.K Duncan who recently resigned as chairman for Eastern Hanover.

If Violet Lewis beats her two competitors, she will run as the PNP's candidate for the Eastern Hanover seat in the next general election which most people think will be held this year.
